As a child,
animals put Alan Rabinowitz at ease. The misfiring neurons of his stuttering
problem put at bay and providing an avenue for just about the only conversations
had until he was 19, the dialogue struck up at the Bronx Zoo with the likes of
jaguars yielded common cause. As such, the connection eventually propelled him
to becoming one of the world’s leading big cat experts and
author of numerous books, including his latest, The Indomitable
Beast.
